Tim Keller: A dangerous And Influential Religious Leader

In the world of religious leaders, Timothy Keller is one of the most influential and one of the most dangerous persons. Dr. Tim Keller has found the Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan in 1989 and it is still operating together with his wife Kathy and his three young sons. Aside from being a pastor, Timothy Keller is theologian and author of several books related to the faith in an urban culture. He has helped in launching over 250 churches in 48 different cities all over the world. His books are sold in over 1 million copies and have been translated into 15 languages.

The reason why Tim Keller is considered as one of the most dangerous religious leaders is because he is influenced by a false gospel. His widespread promotion of a false gospel can be a major threat, as he has un-Biblical views of God, His creation, His word, His mission and the mission of Christ's church. People who are familiar with the work of Tim Keller, especially his embrace of theistic evolution, consider him very dangerous. Besides this, the true believers should be alarmed from much more about Keller's ministry.

Timothy J. Keller is a Senior Pastor of his New York City-based church. He has earned a Master of Divinity degree in 1975 and 6 years later, he completed studies to earn a Doctor of Ministry degree. Today, Tim Keller's church counts over 5,000 members. Dr. Keller has also proven himself worthy when it comes to preaching and writing books. With about 15 written books, Tim Keller has become a best-selling author. Some of his most famous books are The Reason For God, The Prodigal God, Generous Justice and his newest Preaching: Communicating Faith in an Age of Skepticism.

Tim Keller is promoting his theology and philosophy all around the world through the Redeemer Network of about 150 churches. He is also a frequent contributor to a plenty of foundations that promote belief in theistic evolution in churches, in Christian academia and in the Christian home school. Dr. Tim Keller is also involved in the Gospel Coalition, which is an organization with leaders and members who are not agreed among themselves on the theories and beliefs of the Gospel. The Gospel Coalition allows any church to list itself as a coalition member.

Timothy Keller is commonly compared to 20th-century modernists, such as Norman Vincent Peale and Harry Emerson Fosdick, or today's post-modernists Rick Warren and Brian MacLaren. He has a big number of followers just as any of these leaders have had, with some of them considering themselves to be conservative Evangelicals. Many of Keller's followers simply assume that he is orthodox, but when they find out his true beliefs, they face a righteous horror. Also, there are some who believe that Tim Keller's theology is heterodox. They believe that Keller's theology is a side issue and confronting him would interfere with them being true believers.
